It’s a holiday tradition in Wallaceburg.
Today marks the 48th annual Childs Family Luncheon and Dinner to help families in need in the community.
The meal at the Black Goose raised over $13,000 last year, the highest amount since the fundraiser was held at the Oaks Inn years ago.
75% of proceeds from today’s sold-out event support the Wallaceburg Salvation Army, and 25% goes to the Wallaceburg Pantry, a partnership between Knox Presbyterian Church and the First Baptist Church.
Since its inception, the fundraising luncheon has raised roughly $354,000 to help those less fortunate in Wallaceburg.
