Tentative Deal Reached Between French Catholic School Board and CUPE

Another tentative deal for education workers in the province.

The Providence French Catholic school board has reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 4299, representing approximately 800 administrative and support staff.

“This agreement is a reflection of the collaborative work of all parties and demonstrates our shared commitment to the success and well-being of students,” said Jacques Kenny, President of the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence. “I would like to congratulate all parties involved for negotiating an agreement that meets everyone’s needs,” he adds.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of these negotiations,” said Anthony Cutrone, President of CUPE 4299, “This agreement recognizes the critical importance of the work our members do and ensures services for the students of Providence. I want to thank our negotiating team for their hard work in reaching this tentative agreement. I would also like to thank our members for their support during this time.

The terms of the agreement will be made public following ratification by both parties, who have agreed to complete the ratification process by January 29, 2023. Once ratified, the agreement will be in effect until August 31, 2026.
