Police are thanking a Good Samaritan who helped to take an alleged drunk driver off the road.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers received a report about a suspected impaired driver and located the vehicle on Queens Line on Thursday shortly after midnight.
As a result, a 40-year-old Chatham man is now charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, impaired operation of a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg, driving while prohibited, failing to comply with a probation order, and having care or control of a vehicle with an open container of liquor.
The driver was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
