Officials at the Chatham-Kent Public Library are making it easier for patrons to have a little privacy.
As part of the ‘Connect CK’ initiative, three wifi-enabled quiet spaces are available to be booked, one each at the Chatham and Wallaceburg branches of the public library, and a third at the Community Human Services building on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Officials say the pods, which include two benches and a table, can be reserved free of charge, and come equipped with phone and computer access for virtual or face-to-face meetings or appointments for medical care, social services, court services, employment resources, or other private discussions.
‘Connect CK’ is a partnership between Chatham-Kent Public Library, Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team and Chatham-Kent Employment and Social Services created to reduce the digital divide for residents in Chatham-Kent.
The quiet pods at the CKPL’s Chatham and Wallaceburg branches can be reserved up to 7 days in advance by calling 519-354-2940, texting 519-401-7174, by email at [email protected] or through Facebook Messenger @CKPLibrary
The quiet office space at the Community Human Services Building at 435 Grand Avenue West can also be reserved up to 7 days in advance. Contact Community Navigators by phone at 519-355-1380 or by email [email protected] for more information.
