Crime Stoppers Reflects on “Successful and Productive” 2022

Officials with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers were kept busy in 2022.

The organization is celebrating Crime Stoppers Awareness Month by reviewing its successes over the past year.

In all, the agency received 479 tips, which lead to 15 arrests, 41 charges laid, and 109 cases cleared.

Over the course of the year, $2000 worth of property was recovered and $102,780 in drugs seized.

“Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers has enjoyed a very successful and productive 2022,” Erica McIntosh, Crime Stoppers Coordinator said in a news release. “Through the combined efforts of tipsters, the media, police agencies, and the hard work of our Board members, many incidents were successfully investigated and solved.”

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers encourages anyone with information about a crime to call in a tip anonymously to assist with police investigations. Tipsters are also eligible for cash rewards.

Since the organization’s inception in 1987, a total of 29,459 tips have been logged, and $114,549,902 in drugs and property seized.
