One of Chatham-Kent’s most popular beaches could be getting a makeover, at least in name.
The Mitchell’s Bay Area Association has asked the municipality to rename Dover Beach to the Mitchell’s Bay Beach.
Officials with the MBAA say using the Mitchell’s Bay name promotes tourism and the uniqueness of the area and provides continuity of signage in the community and when applying for grants.
An online survey has been launched through the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website.
A report for Council’s consideration on the renaming of Dover Beach is expected to be on the March 27, 2023 council agenda.
