Another shot of winter weather could be heading our way.

School buses in zones 1-4 serving the Lambton Kent and St Clair Catholic school boards in Lambton County have been cancelled for the day. Buses serving Chatham-Kent in zones 5-8 will be running as usual. Providence French Catholic school board buses are cancelled for those in Lambton County, but are running in Chatham-Kent.

A special weather statement remains in effect this morning with the potential for rain or heavy wet snow today.

According to Environment Canada, a Texas low is expected to bring a mix of precipitation to a large swath of southwestern Ontario with snow beginning this afternoon and quickly becoming heavy at times.

Strong winds gusting to 70 kilometres an hour could create reduced visibility and hazardous travel conditions.

Officials say the temperature in some areas may remain above freezing, which would limit accumulations slightly.

For now, the weather agency is predicting between 5 to 10 cm of snow and 20 to 30 mm of rain in some areas.
