Chatham-Kent Police continue to remind area residents to be on their guard with more scam artists at work in the community.
Officials say they’ve received a number of fraud complaints about paving and other construction companies going door-to-door and getting residents to sign contracts, then not honouring them.
Fraud artists often use high pressure sales tactics, offer unusually low prices, and lack the proper credentials such as licenses, permits, and insurance to perform the work.
Authorities say it’s essential to take the time to make an informed decision when it comes to any kind of door-to-door offers.
