Wallaceburg BIA Forming Committee To Improve Downtown Decorations

The local BIA is recruiting volunteers to help downtown Wallaceburg to better show off its Christmas spirit.

The BIA has announced that it will be recruiting local residents for a Christmas Committee that will endeavour to replace and improve the decorations that adorn downtown Wallaceburg over the holidays.

The committee will work with the BIA Board of Directors to develop a new decor scheme, help source products, and organize fundraising projects that will help in the purchase of new Christmas decorations.

“We are looking for everybody and anybody who would like to contribute to the downtown Christmas decorations, either with fundraising or ideas,” said BIA Coordinator Rachel Vandorssalear. “We’re just looking for some extra input and some extra feet on the ground.”

BIA Co-Chair Karen Moran said the group felt it was time to retire the current aging decorations for something new that the entire community can enjoy.

“It’s been quite a few years and as some people may have noticed this past holiday season, our decorations really need a facelift,” said Moran. “We really are appealing to the community to get involved. We need you, we want you to be a part of this and have a say in what we do downtown.”
