Due to the high water levels the 5th and 3rd Street Bridge will be closed for a few hours today to remove debris from the water way.
The Fifth St Bridge is estimated to be closed until between 11am-12pm.
Shortly after this, the Third St Bridge will be closed for approximately 3 hours.
Officials with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority expect the river to peak in Chatham at some point today.
Staff are also keeping tabs on the Lake Erie shoreline. High winds this afternoon could cause flooding on Erie Shore Drive and erosion and further shoreline damage.
