A Windsor man is facing charges for breaking and entering and allegedly assaulting a neighbour who tried to intervene.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the neighbour spotted the accused on Grand Avenue East in Chatham, allegedly breaking into a residence through a window. The neighbour confronted the suspect, however, there was a fight and the victim was injured.
Officers were called to the scene and a 54-year-old Windsor man was arrested.
He is now charged with break and enter and two counts of assault. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
