Boats will soon be back on the water as registration opens for the annual Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race.

Organized by the St Clair Region Conservation Authority and St Clair Region Conservation Foundation, the race to be held April 30th will feature 11 classes and three different race lengths.

Funds raised help support conservation education programs within the St Clair Region watershed. Officials say the event also highlights the region’s unique natural features and recreational opportunities.

The races begin at Mosside Road just west of County Road 79 and end at the Shetland Conservation Area on Lambton County Road 2.

The deadline for online registration is April 26th. In person registration will take place the morning of the race.
