Charges have been laid following a traffic stop in downtown Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police pulled over a vehicle on Fifth Street just before 1:20 this morning and say the officer suspected the man behind the wheel had been drinking.

After administering a roadside breath test, the officer brought the driver to police headquarters for more tests.

The 26-year-old accused has now been charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit and was released with conditions and a date in court later this month.
