G1 Drivers Busted For Speeding On Hwy. 401

A pair of drivers with learner’s permits are facing a long list of charges after they were allegedly caught speeding on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, a 34-year-old Windsor resident was stopped by officers on May 8 while the other driver, a 35-year-old of Belle River resident, was pulled over on May 10.

As a result, both drivers have been charged with speeding, driving with a G1 licence without a qualified driver, driving with a G1 licence on a prohibited highway, failing to provide insurance, and failing to provide a vehicle permit.

The 34-year-old is additionally charged with driving without an ignition interlock device, breaching imposed driving conditions, and driving a vehicle with an unauthorized licence plate.
