A tip about a suspected impaired driver has led to charges for a Blenheim man.
The Ontario Provincial Police said the Chatham-Kent Police Service relayed the report about a possible impaired driver on Bloomfield Road near Highway 401 on Saturday, shortly before 3 a.m.
Officers located a vehicle on Bloomfield Road near 11th Line and arrested the driver after they showed signs of intoxication. The driver was taken to Chatham-Kent police headquarters for further testing.
As a result, a 27-year-old Blenheim man is charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
The accused will answer the charges in court on July 31.
