A Wallaceburg man has been charged in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in Perth County.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Thursday at around 10:30 a.m., an officer on general patrol spotted a parked vehicle on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg with a licence plate that had been reported as “missing.” Further investigation revealed the vehicle has been reported stolen by Perth OPP.
Police were able to identify the man who parked the vehicle and the vehicle was seized for forensic examination.
Officers attempted to locate the suspect, who later turned himself in at the Wallaceburg police station at round 2:45 p.m.
A 25-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. He has since been released with conditions and an October court date.
