Cyclist Struck in Chatham

A Chatham cyclist is recovering after being struck by a vehicle while out for a ride in Chatham.

Emergency crews responded to St Clair Street north of Gregory Drive just after 7 o’clock Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the cyclist was on St Clair approaching the intersection with Regency Drive when a vehicle turning south ran into him.

The 55-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The driver, a 76-year-old man was charged with making an unsafe turn.
