The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) is attempting to lure more experienced officers to the municipality by offering financial incentives.
As part of the Experienced Officer Incentive Program, officers who hold a rank of first-class or higher and are employed by a recognized Canadian Police Agency are eligible to receive a lump-sum payment of $30,000 upon joining CKPS.
“As a progressive and diverse community, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent recognizes the value of hiring experienced officers who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to contribute to our ongoing growth and success,” the police service said in a news release. “With our effective recruitment process, we aim to continue advancing as both a community and an organization.”
