Remembering Darcy McKeough

A political legend is being remembered for a life of public service.

Darcy McKeough, former MPP for Kent West and Chatham-Kent in the 1960s and 70s passed away November 29th at the age of 90.

A member of the Progressive Conservative party, McKeough was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 1963 and served under Premiers John Robards and Bill Davis.

Over the years he held a number of high-level portfolios, including Treasurer, Minister of Economics and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Minister of Municipal Affairs, before retiring in 1978.

McKeough was made an officer of the Order of Canada in 1994.

A funeral service will be held at Christ Church in Chatham this Friday.
