Chatham-Kent’s hydro utility is making a significant donation to help children in need in the community.

Entegrus has donated $200,000 to the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent’s Butterfly Building Campaign, aimed at developing a new and improved facility.

The new 55,000-square-foot building, which has been in the planning stages since 2017, will provide additional space to reduce wait times for rehabilitation services such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and autism services.

The Children’s Treatment Centre currently provides services to more than 3,500 children and youth with special needs.

The recent donation brings the centre closer to its $10 million goal.

Throughout the past year, Entegrus and its employees have donated roughly $400,000 to organizations and initiatives within the local community.
