Alleged Counterfeiter Arrested Again

A Chatham-Kent man accused of using counterfeit money at a local pizzeria has been arrested again.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the Dominos in Wallaceburg on February 22 after a man used counterfeit money twice to make purchases at the restaurant.

The transaction was captured by a video surveillance camera, and a local bank confirmed the money was counterfeit. The accused was later located and arrested.

The man was released from custody with conditions and a court date, however, when he failed to attend court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Officers spotted the man walking on King Street in Wallaceburg on December 27 and took him into custody.

The 36-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with two counts of possessing counterfeit money and two counts of uttering counterfeit money. He was released again with a new court day.
