Farmers Set to Descend on Wallaceburg

Curlers from across Ontario will be descending on Chatham-Kent this weekend for the 37th annual Farmers Bonspiel.

The premier curling tournament returns to the Sydenham Community Curling Club in Wallaceburg with over $19,000 in cash and product prizes up for grabs, including a $3000 first place prize and over $5000 in door prizes to be won.

28 teams from across the province are taking part in the three-day event, including live entertainment Friday and Saturday night.

The inaugural Provincial Farmers Curling Championship was organized in 1986 by a group of curling farmer members of the Sydenham Community Curling Club, and remains a major fundraiser for the club.
