Hosting Cascades Casino continues to pay out dividends for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has distributed its third-quarter payment of $435,454 to the municipality for the period of October 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
Chatham-Kent has received $1,192,038 so far for the fiscal year for hosting the casino. Since 2001, the municipality has received over $17.3 million in payments for hosting the former Dresden Slots and the current Cascades Casino.
Payments are based on a formula applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site. Funds are put toward local infrastructure projects and community programs.
