Flooding Concerns Continue Along St Clair Watershed

Local conservation officials continue to keep close tabs on area waterways.

A flood warning issued by the St Clair Region Conservation Authority remains in effect.

The McKeough Dam gates were closed on Saturday to prevent flooding in Wallaceburg, but have since reopened and officials say some areas are still experiencing high water levels in floodplain areas.

A number of roads in southern Lambton County remain closed due to flooding, including sections of Stanley Line, Plowing Match Road, Black Ash Road, and Gypsie Flats Road.

Residents are reminded to stay away from waterways and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks, and cold, fast moving water.
