A local man has been charged following a multi-vehicle crash in Chatham-Kent that sent three people to hospital.
The Ontario Provincial Police said shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle attempted to turn west from Communication Road onto Creek Road and collided with another vehicle travelling south on Communication Road. The first vehicle then collided with a third vehicle that had been stopped at the intersection.
Two drivers and one passenger involved in the crash were taken to hospital by EMS to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the stopped vehicle was assessed at the scene by paramedics and reported no serious injuries.
A section of Communication Road was closed while emergency crews were at the scene.
Following an investigation, the driver of the northbound vehicle, a 55-year-old from Chatham, has now been charged with careless driving.
