A suspected thief has been arrested after being spotted staggering across the front lawn of a Chatham home.
Police were called to check on the accused shortly after 6:30 this morning.
Officers brought the man into custody for public intoxication, but following a search found identification that had been reported stolen from Tilbury earlier this month.
The 41-year-old man has now been charged with possession of stolen property. He was released with a date in court next month.
