Passed Out At Public Park

A local man is facing charges after he was found asleep at the wheel of his vehicle in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to check on the well-being of a man found slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle at Kingston Park shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Believing the man to be intoxicated, officers took him into custody before conducting further tests at a local police detachment.

As a result, a 56-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with impaired driving. He was released with conditions and a July court date.
