Chatham-Kent’s beach bus will be back on the road later this month.

The seasonal transit route from Mitchell’s Bay to Erieau will resume for a trial run one Saturday each month this summer: June 29th, July 20th, and August 3rd.

The bus will make stops in Grande Pointe, Pain Court, St Clair College Thames Campus, Charing Cross, and Blenheim.

Service is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; details for each stop are on the RideCK website.

The cost to ride one way will be $5.00, increasing to $5.25 in July.

Children five years of age and younger are free accompanied by a caregiver.  The Smartcard Cash Pass is accepted on Route S1, offering the same discount as all other Ride CK Inter-Urban Routes.

The beach bus was paused during the pandemic, then cut from the municipal budget in 2022. This summer’s trial run will determine if the service is practical and cost-effective.
