A local student has an extra feather in her cap as she prepares to head off to university in the fall.

Ursuline College graduate Leela McLaughlin was recently presented with the $1000 Kiwanis Foundation of Canada Matching Scholarship.

The club’s Scholarship Committee selected her for one its two scholarships because of her impressive academic accomplishments and her volunteerism and participation in her school and community.
