Pie-eating and pit-spitting return to Blenheim this week as part of the 41st annual Cherryfest.

The festival kicks off on Thursday and runs through Saturday in downtown Blenheim on Talbot Street.

Featuring a vendor market, food trucks, midway rides, busker shows, live music and more, the three-day event is sure to have something for everyone.

Many of the festival’s signature competitions will take place on Saturday, including the pie baking competition, the pie eating contest, and the cherry pit spit contest.

New for this year is a free shuttle service that will transport festivalgoers every 30 minutes from the Blenheim Sobeys to the downtown core.
