A collision involving a cyclist near Blenheim has landed an elderly American woman in hospital.

Chatham-Kent Police say four bike riders were riding single file northbound on Charing Cross Road between Drury Line and Fourteenth Line Wednesday afternoon when the lead cyclist hit the gravel and lost control, suffering serious injuries.

The 71-year-old from New York was taken to hospital by paramedics and later airlifted to London in critical condition.
