Drunk driving charges have been laid against a Chatham man.
Police say the accused was spotted driving through a red light on Grand Avenue East just after midnight. The driver was pulled over and officers suspected the man was under the influence of alcohol.
The accused was taken to police headquarters for breath tests, and authorities learned he was already under a driving ban.
The 44-year-old has been charged with prohibited driving, impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a date in court next month. His vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded.
