Saturday marks the kick-off of a two-month celebration of multiculturalism in Chatham-Kent.
Taste of Chatham-Kent begins with the Newcomer Picnic tomorrow. The event, which is hosted by Adult Language and Learning, runs from 11 until 3 at Chatham’s Kingston Park.
The Taste of CK festival was first announced earlier this month, but since then several cultural groups and local businesses have added their events to the roster, including the Onam Harvest Festival in Thamesville celebrating Malayan culture, and Roots and Riddim Jamaican festival in Chatham, both taking place in September.
Organizers are inviting other groups to add their event to the list to showcase Chatham-Kent’s growing cultural diversity.
