Greg and MalcomMalcom Bricklin will always be known as the man who created the truly Canadian car, and the one that bears his name.

Made in Minto New Brunswick between 1974 and 1976, and known for it’s gull wing doors, the Bricklin and it’s creator are a symbol of perseverance.

Tonight his story will be presented at the Capitol theater in Chatham.

In speaking with 99.1 this morning, Bricklin likens business to football saying anyone can make 99 yards but that last yard to the goal line is the most difficult.  He says to look at things from the, ‘If it is difficult, I’m on the 1 yard line and I only have 1 more yard to go’, perspective.

Bricklin also founded Subaru of America.  He was an American but had his production plant in Canada, unfortunately the company just could not build cars fast enough to fill the orders and just over 2,800 vehicles were produced.

There will be Bricklin’s on display during Retrofest this weekend.
