Just a week after closing Parliament, MPP’s will be returning to Ottawa Tuesday for a short but important session.
They will return to the house of Commons to pass the Emergency legislation aimed at helping Canadians through the Covid – 19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Trudeau speaking outside Rideau Cottage Sunday afternoon where he remains in isolation, said Tuesdays session will begin at noon.
Among the items expected to pass, the economic package to help out of work Canadians, and new funding for research.
The total cost of the stimulus package is 82 billion dollars.
All parties have agreed to a plan that will see just 32 members in the house, all travelling by car.
The parties will be represented proportionally.
14 Liberals, 11 Conservatives, 3 members each from the NDP and Bloc, and one Green party member.
