The long arm of the law caught up with a pair of local residents, wanted by Chatham-Kent Police.
Officers responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Colborne Street in Chatham shortly before 8 o’clock Thursday morning and found a man and woman inside the car.
Authorities say the man, a 38-year-old from Chatham, had a warrant for his arrest after missing a previous court date for violating bail violations.
The woman, a 33-year-old, had been arrested by the RCMP in Nova Scotia last April and was under court orders not to leave the province or associate with anyone who has a criminal record.
The man is facing charges of possession of stolen property, theft, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was released with a date in court next month.
The woman is charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
