The municipality is looking to fill the void about to be left by the closure of Radio Cabs.

As Chatham-Kent’s only licensed accessible taxi service providing pre-booked appointments, officials say they want to know if another provider is prepared to step up.

At its October 23 meeting, Council asked administration to prepare a Request for Information to determine interest in providing accessible taxi service in the municipality.

Officials say that while it would be ideal if there were accessible taxicabs covering all communities in Chatham-Ken, service levels will be determined by market conditions.
