A local man who was charged late last year following a drug bust in Blenheim has been arrested again for allegedly skipping out on his court dates.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers located the accused on Thames Street in Chatham early Sunday morning and he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The man was initially arrested on November 23, 2023, after officers with the Intelligence Unit and Critical Incident Response Team executed search warrants on Regent Street and Chatham Street South in Blenheim. As a result, $4,500 worth of drugs were seized, along with drug paraphernalia, a large amount of Canadian currency, stolen property, and ammunition.
The accused is currently charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm/ammunition while prohibited, failing to comply with a release order, and failing to attend court.
Following a bail hearing, the man was released from custody with another court date later this week.
