A concerned citizen’s call to police has led to charges against a Chatham man.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on St Clair Street shortly after 9 last night and say the accused was found with various items that had been stolen from the Super Store.
To make matters worse, the man was already under court orders to stay away from the store, and a further search turned up suspected fentanyl.
The 51-year-old is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, drug possession, and failing to comply with his release conditions.
