Another slight dip in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers today.

Public Health is reporting 17 new cases and 19 resolutions, lowering the active caseload to 113.

Of those infected since the beginning of July, 8.3% have been fully vaccinated, 20.6% either partially vaccinated, not yet fully protected, or with an unknown vaccination status, and 71% of cases have been amongst unvaccinated individuals.

There are still two active outbreaks, one connected to Praise Fellowship Church in Chatham, the other in the rehab unit at the Chatham hospital.

CKHA continues to treat 16 area residents infected with COVID, five of whom are in the ICU, and three on ventilators.

Of the COVID patients in hospital, three have been fully vaccinated while the other 13 are not.

Overall hospital occupancy has dipped somewhat – 8 of the 10 ICU beds are filled, down from full capacity yesterday. Medical, surgical, and critical care capacity is still sitting at 99%.
