A big drop in Chatham-Kent’s COVID stats today.

The municipality is down to 57 active cases with just four new infections reported by Public Health and 17 cases resolved. It’s the lowest number of active cases since the end of August.

A new outbreak has been declared at an unnamed workplace with seven linked cases.

There are still ongoing outbreaks at Kids Connection Daycare, McNaughton Avenue Public School, and St Ursula Catholic School, all in Chatham.

There are now just three COVID patients being treated at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, two of whom are in the ICU and one on a ventilator.

Five hospital staff remain off work because of either testing positive or coming in close contact with the virus.
