Active COVID Cases Holding Steady at 31

Chatham-Kent’s COVID stats are holding steady today.

Public Health is reporting four new cases and four resolutions, keeping the active caseload at 31.

There are three local residents being treated at CKHA for the virus, one of whom is in the ICU.

The local vaccination rate continues to creep up with 115 first doses and 142 second doses administered yesterday. 76% of those eligible have received at least one dose of COVID vaccine in Chatham-Kent, with 69% fully vaccinated with both shots.

Across Ontario, 531 new cases are being reported today. The province is also adding another 17 deaths linked to the virus, but because of a data cleanup, officials say 15 of those passed away over two months ago.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 176 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 across Ontario, 163 of whom are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
