Another day, another jump in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers, now up to 112 active cases in the municipality.

The daily report from Public Health includes 18 new cases and 9 resolutions.

Officials say 5.9% of the active cases are in fully vaccinated residents, compared to 74.7% who are unvaccinated, 11.8% partially vaccinated, and 7.7% with an unknown vaccination status.

There are nine COVID patients being treated at the Health Alliance, none of whom have been fully vaccinated, and two of whom are in intensive care.

Four CKHA staff are currently off work because of either testing positive for COVID-19 or being exposed to the virus.

Public Health is keeping tabs on two active outbreaks, including the medicine unit at the Chatham hospital and an unidentified workplace.

Province-wide, there are 798 new cases being reported today, 365 people being treated for the virus in hospitals across Ontario, and another 185 people in ICU.
