Active COVID Cases Up to 60, Two School Outbreaks Declared

Chatham-Kent’s overall COVID stats are inching up.

Public Health recorded 18 new infections over the weekend, but with 17 cases resolved, the total active caseload is up by 1 to 60.

Two more outbreaks have been declared, one at Chatham Christian High school, the other at Thamesville Area Central School.

Public Health officials are also still keeping tabs on two workplace outbreaks and a congregate living setting.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, six patients are being treated for COVID-19. CKHA officials say none of the current COVID patients have been vaccinated.

Overall, of the COVID cases identified locally since July 1st, 73% have been unvaccinated, 15% fully vaccinated, 7% partially vaccinated, 3% with an undetermined vaccination status, and 2% not yet fully protected.
