This week’s provincial by-election in the riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex doesn’t appear to have voters flocking to the polls.

Figures from Elections Ontario shows turnout at advance polls held last week was down compared to the 2022 general election.

Preliminary numbers show 4976 voters, or 5.5% of registered voters in the riding cast their ballot ahead of the May 2nd vote. That compares to 9820, or 10.9% taking part in advance polls in the 2022 election.

Registered voters can still cast a ballot at the returning office in Strathroy or satellite office in the County Fair Mall in Wallaceburg until 6pm on May 1st.

Polls will be open on by-election day on Thursday from 9am to 9pm.
