Aggressive Driver Faces Impaired Charges

A local man won’t be getting behind the wheel anytime soon after he was stopped by police in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an officer on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle on Webb Street at around 11 p.m. on Friday. As the officer watched, the vehicle turned north and accelerated aggressively.

The officer pulled the vehicle over and administered a roadside breath test, which showed the driver had a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit.

As a result, a 46-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
