Agnes Marguerite Coene (nee Desender), a resident of Wallaceburg, formerly of RR #1 Port Lambton, died peacefully at Fairfield Park on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the age of 85. Predeceased by husband, Felix Jules Coene (2000). Predeceased by parents Richard and Victorine Desender; brothers Georges, Gerard, Gaston and Andre Desender. Survived by children Paula Covemaeker (Robert), Bothwell; Willie Coene (Marnie), Port Lambton; Rose Coene (Rick Thorpe), Leamington; Lena DeKeyser (late Charles 2008), Sarnia and Magda Levesque (Robert), London. Grandchildren Cathy Harris (Robert), Chatham; Henri Covemaeker (Lisa), Bothwell; Jerry Covemaeker (Stephanie), Ayr; Chad Coene (Carrie Webb-Coene), Sarnia; Geoffrey Coene (Mary Theresa), Mt. Pleasant; Christopher Coene (Stacey), Belle River; Jill Ruth (Michael), Chicago; Darryl DeKeyser (Dayna), Sarnia; Craig DeKeyser, Sarnia and Sara Levesque, London. Great-grandchildren Amanda, Carter, Lauren, Noah, Hayden, Zoe, Xander, Elle, Aaron, Lucas, Felix, Ariella, Maya, Nolan, Maren and Maeve. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Michigan, Ontario and Belgium. Agnes was born in 1929 in Merkem, Belgium and immigrated to Canada in 1951. She farmed on the Lambton Line for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and a 50 yr. member of the CWL. She was a quiet woman, dedicated to her family, her farm animals and gardening. She loved sharing stories of her life in Belgium. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 7-9 pm and at Sacred Heart Church, Port Lambton, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Port Lambton. Parish Prayers will be said in the chapel on Friday at 8:30pm.
