Local residents will be able to breathe a little easier today.
A special air quality statement issued by Environment Canada earlier this week has been rescinded.
However, smoke plumes from forest fires in Ontario and Quebec continue to cloud the sky and the maximum air quality health index for Chatham-Kent is listed at moderate for the next few days.
Officials say residents with respiratory issues should consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities if they are experiencing any symptoms such as coughing or throat irritation.
