A Wallaceburg teen is facing a number of charges following an incident near John McGregor Secondary School in Chatham.

According to Chatham-Kent Police, a vehicle was driving past a group of high school students on Cecile Avenue over the noon-hour on Thursday when a passenger pointed and fired an airsoft gun, hitting one of the students in the face and one in the arm. Both victims suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was identified, spoke to officers over the phone, and later turned himself into police.

The 18-year-old is charged with weapons dangerous, two counts of assault with a weapon and three counts of pointing a firearm. He was released from headquarters with conditions and a future court date.
