Funds are starting to flow from this year’s Smile Cookie campaign.
The Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program (CKSNP) has received a donation of $21,235.
With the support of community partners, volunteers and educators, more than 10,000 students take part in this program with 1.5 million snacks and meals served every school year. Along with provincial funding, and community donations, all children have access to the program at no cost to families.
Tim Hortons in Blenheim, Bothwell, Thamesville, Ridgetown, and Mill Street in Tilbury supported the Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program this year.
Other restaurants in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Dresden supported the Children’s Treatment Centre, and proceeds from Smile Cookies purchased at the eastbound 401 On Route near Tilbury will benefit Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent.
The Smile Cookie campaign began in 1996 to raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital. Today, more than 625 local charities and organization in communities across Canada benefit from Smile Cookie sales.
